Dragonfly pets was started 6 years ago (as Dakota's Doodles). We like to have visitors but please realize none of us are "fancy" nor are our homes. With kids and dogs our houses are indeed homes filled with love but not always neat and tidy. Sometimes it may take a few days to get back to emails or phone calls, we have kids to haul to events, dogs to go to vets etc. |

This is a picture of Standard Poodle Stud Arlis at a nursing home. I call it "loving hands". The hands cupping his face are the wife's hands. The other wrapped hand missing a finger is the husbands. His wife helped him find Arlis whenever his hand slipped off due to weakness. Arlis knows to seek out hands and he is tall enough to place his head on beds. |
Therapy dog Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. This is my ex-husband (we still work therapy together)Tony with little Cookie, a rescue Cavalier. She is perfect and sits very still for people to hold her. Sometimes I feel selfish with my time and don't want to go to the homes. They don't always smell too good and it can be hard listening to old people trying to form a sentence or tell me the same story they told me last week. Then there is the reminder of my own mortality and what can happen when I get old. I hope someone will come by with a dog for me to touch if I ever go into a nursing home. Then I can remember my own dogs and tell people stories of them too. |
